Booking a live salsa orchestra in Switzerland
Nolosé Salsa is a salsa orchestra founded in Switzerland in 2004: 16 musicians from Cuba, Venezuela, Peru, Bolivia, Poland and Switzerland. All we need is your date, your venue and a rough budget. The manager comes back to you with the right line-up, and there’s no obligation.

What people ask us before booking
How much does a live salsa orchestra cost?
It depends on the size of the line-up, the distance and how much equipment we need to bring. Most private parties and company events book 8 to 10 musicians; clubs usually take 10 to 12, festivals 12 to 16. Give a rough budget in the form and the manager will suggest a line-up that fits.
How much space do we need?
Allow about 2.5 m² per musician. The 10-piece needs about 24 m², a stage of 6 m by 4 m; the 8-piece fits on most bar stages.
What if our venue has no sound system?
Then we bring it. Besides its instruments, Nolosé can supply the whole rig: mixing desk, monitors, front-of-house PA and extra lighting. The sound engineer can be yours or ours.
How far ahead should we book?
For summer festivals, from the previous autumn. For weddings and company events, as soon as your date is set, because high-season Saturdays go quickly. If your date is close, ask anyway.
Does the audience need to know how to dance salsa?
No. The repertoire is built to get a room of newcomers on its feet. The band has seen it work since 2004, from the Chorus in Lausanne to open-air festivals.
Which languages do you work in?
We plan in French or English, and Spanish comes naturally, since several musicians are from Cuba and elsewhere in Latin America. The press kit, in all three languages, is in the pro area.
Questions to ask any salsa band
- Space. Allow about 2.5 m² of stage per musician, and ask for the stage plan.
- Sound. Who supplies the sound system, and who runs it? A good concert needs a sound engineer.
- Line-up. Can the band scale up or down to suit the venue and the budget?
- Timing. Summer programmes are settled months in advance, so get in touch early.
- Languages. Which languages will the team use with you and your audience?
