How much does a live band cost in Switzerland?
For a wedding or a company evening, bringing Nolosé to your venue costs around CHF 3,000, depending on the number of musicians, the sound system and transport costs. When a festival or a dance night provides the stage and the technical set-up, most of our concerts fall between CHF 2,000 and 3,000. Outside Switzerland, flights and accommodation come on top.

What sets the price
The size of the band
Eight to ten musicians for a private party or a company evening, ten to twelve for a club, twelve to sixteen for a festival or a big stage. The price follows the number of musicians on stage.
The technical set-up
If the venue has a PA and a technician, the orchestra plugs straight in. If not, we bring the PA, the monitors and the sound engineer, plus extra lighting if the room is dark. Each of these appears as a line on the quote.
Transport
The musicians often travel by public transport. The equipment goes by car: for a private party, the instruments, the PA and the monitors often fill three cars. Transport costs cover both. Outside Switzerland, flights and accommodation come on top.
What a proper quote spells out
- the line-up and the number of musicians
- how long the music lasts and how many sets (usually 90 minutes to 2 hours)
- arrival, set-up and soundcheck times
- who provides the PA, the monitors, the sound engineer and the lighting
- the space needed: 24 m² for ten musicians
- a 230 V power supply near the stage
- transport costs
- the musicians’ meals
- the deposit and the cancellation terms
Band or DJ?
A DJ costs less and can play all night. An orchestra turns your evening into a concert your guests are part of. At the first bars, they leave their tables to see where the sound is coming from. The singer starts a chorus and the room sings it back. The musicians play with one eye on the dance floor, and when it is full, the song keeps going. To finish, the trombones and the trumpet come down off the stage and play in the middle of the dancers.
Years later, that is the moment your guests still talk about.
The two work together. During our breaks a playlist takes over, included in the price. On request, a DJ we work with keeps the party going after the concert.
Why an orchestra costs more than a duo
In a salsa orchestra, every musician plays their own part. The bass lays down the tumbao, the piano its montuno, the timbales, congas and bongo weave their rhythms together, the horns fire off the riffs, and the lead singer trades lines with the coros. That sound takes at least eight musicians on stage. It is what brings guests who have never dared to dance onto the floor, and keeps it full until the last song.
The price follows: a fee for each musician, a concert PA, a sound engineer and getting the equipment there.
When to book
For a Saturday between May and September, write to us several months ahead. Christmas and end-of-year parties are booked from September. Festivals and towns plan their programmes more than nine months in advance.
Questions about the price
How much does a band cost for a wedding in Switzerland?
Bringing Nolosé to your wedding costs around CHF 3,000, depending on the size of the band, the sound system and transport costs. The quote sets out the line-up, from 8 to 12 musicians, and every line of the price.
And for a company evening?
Allow around CHF 3,000 for eight to ten musicians, depending on the technical set-up and transport costs. A large hall can take sixteen musicians, and the quote follows.
How much does a live band cost for a dance night?
Most of our concerts then cost between CHF 2,000 and 3,000, less than a wedding, because the organiser usually provides the stage, the PA and the technician: the orchestra arrives, sets up its instruments, does a soundcheck and plays. For a private party we often bring all the equipment, which means three full cars, hours of setting up and a long day for every musician.
Is the sound system included?
When you ask for it, the PA, the monitors and the sound engineer appear on the quote. If the venue is equipped, the orchestra plugs in and that line disappears.
Are there transport costs?
Yes. They appear on the quote and cover the musicians’ tickets, since they often travel by public transport, and the cars that bring the instruments and the PA. Outside Switzerland, flights and accommodation come on top.
How can I keep the budget down?
Two levers: an 8- or 10-piece line-up, and the venue’s own PA where there is one. Describe your event in the form. The manager replies within 48 hours, with a proposal and no obligation.
